The Ethiopia Travel Journal

The travel journal has 4 pages devoted to each day, with enough pages for two weeks. This should be sufficient even when families add extra days at the beginning or the trip, but if it isn't enough to document your journey, I will be happy to add extra pages if you let me know how many you need. For each day there is plenty of room to record your thoughts and notes in the following lined sections:

• Date
• Location
• Today, Don't Forget To... In this section you can make notes ahead of time about taking a bottle when you get the baby, take a toy, etc. - Things that may get forgotten in the thrill of the moment.
• Food We Enjoyed, and Where
• Today's Highlights
• Impressions and Feelings
• Additional Thoughts or Ideas Inspired By the Day
• Keepsakes Acquired and Expenditures
• Signatures and Well Wishes of People We Met Today, or Your Child's Artwork - This page has the title at the top, and is then unlined for autographs, or you can bring crayons and let your child draw the things that the remember of the day.

The pages are sewn through the fold for flexibility and durability and the 8 1/2" x 7" book will open flat, so it is easy to write in. With the hard cover, it is easy to write anywhere so you can make the best use of your time on a bus or train. The cover material is strong and attractive brown/black imitation leather, and features an additional cover flap with a black elastic band to keep it closed in your purse, so the fore edge of the book is covered and items you stick in are less likely to get lost. There is also a pocket inside the front cover with a paper folder to contain small receipts, ticket stubs, etc. The front of this flap is decorated with an image of the Ethiopian national banner from 1896 stamped in copper.

Each book is made as the order is placed, so please allow at least three weeks for the completion of your order, not counting the shipping time. The book costs $35 and media mail postage to US destinations is included. For faster shipping via USPS priority shipping, please add $5 to the cost of the book. If time is crucial, I will be happy to rush the production of your book, and will have it in the mail in two to three days, if you elect to pay a $10 rush surcharge. For orders that will be sent to other countries, I use USPS Global Priority, which currently costs $12. You may purchase insurance for $1.50 if you want.
